HTML 2.0

The first Internet standard for HTML was released in November 1995 as HTML 2.0[1]. Coordinated by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), this specification brought together and formalized most of the features of HTML that were being using prior to June of 1994. A document is considered to be HTML 2.0 conformant if:

It is a conforming SGML document and it conforms the the HTML Document Type Definition (DTD).
It conforms to the HTML 2.0 application conventions.
It conforms to The HTML Coded Character Set.
